A new phase in red wine production. There was more awareness of red wine production with improved fermentation processes, working with wine from stock of a more reduced and controlled yield per hectare. Oak ageing was perfected to emphasize the importance of the grape (organic) tannins above those from the wood.

Marimar Torres planted the first vineyard in California. Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Parellada varieties were planted.
